Coordinating the care and adoption of the Malamutes that Polaris helps requires
an extraordinary amount of time and resources. We rely on our volunteers and
donors to keep us running and give us the ability to help so many dogs.
It is a very rewarding experience to help a Husky in need -- seeing the
bright eyes, happy Malamute smile, and wagging tail and knowing that you
improved the life of that animal is an incredible feeling! If you are interested
in joining Polaris Alaskan Malamute Rescue as a volunteer, please fill out our
volunteer application form, and we will be in contact with you soon to discuss
the ways in which you can help the Polaris dogs!
Also visit the donations
page for additional ways in which you can help.
Ways in which you can volunteer:
-
Foster Homes – Foster a dog by opening your home and
heart to a dog in need. If permanently adopting an Alaskan Malamute isn't for
you, but you'd still like to help us, then consider being a foster parent for
one of our rescue dogs until it is permanently adopted. Foster dogs need
training, gentle discipline and love to prepare them for a forever home. Lack of
foster space limits us in the number of dogs we are able to take in at any given
time. By allowing us to temporarily place a Malamute with you, you save the life
of an otherwise homeless dog. Some knowledge of the Malamute will be very helpful.
These foster dogs do become a part of the foster family and should usually remain
in that home until they are adopted by our organization. If you would like to
help us by fostering a dog, please call us or fill out our
Volunteer
Application Form.
